Eutrophication has become a serious environmental problem because of the excessive amounts nitrogen and phosphorus in water. Aquaculture waste is one drivers eutrophication. Seaweed known for its ability to remove nutrients from In Indonesia, research about efficiency seaweed decreasing nutrient concentration wastewater still rare. This article reviewed use as an adsorbent removal. review aims summarize removal various genera macroalgae. The comparing bioremediation potentials macroalgae, including growth, bioaccumulation capacity, potential uptake, are discussed. factors influencing uptake will also be addressed this study. literature was collected ScienceDirect Google Scholar databases. paper found that red algae genus Gracilaria were most widely used agents compared other genera. expected useful basis selecting agent. We hope there more on bioadsorbent Indonesia.
